
Batthyány Summer School 2012

- between 18 and 32 years of age,
- student of higher education (BSc, MSc or PhD studies),
- open to meet people from different countries all around Europe,
- willing to take part in an amazing international summer program,
... then this is the right place for you!
The Summer School is open for university students, who seek an opportunity to spend 10 days in a Visegrád country in an inspiring international environment. This program is a mixture of academic, social, cultural and free-time activities.
The Summer School participants can listen to lectures given by famous experts of the legal, political, economic science, and sociology also. The lectures focus on the 'hot topics' of the Central and Eastern European Region, but also deal with issues arising from the globalization, the economic crisis, or the waking superpowers of the Far-East. The topics also include the future of the European Union, the chances of the EU-candidate countries, and the opportunities of the well-educated young people of Central and Eastern Europe in today's globalizing and knowledge-based world.
Besides the academic program, the participants have the chance to learn about the rich cultural heritage of the city of Győr, Hungary and the Central-European region. The program includes sightseeing trips, cultural events as well. The visit to the thousand-year-old Abbey of Pannonhalma, the castle of Fertőd, or the historical city of Sopron is always one of the most popular activities of the Summer School.
The languange of the program is English. The applicants should have at least an intermediate level knowlegde of the language!

Participation fee (to be paid in cash at the registration in Győr): only 50 €
The participation fee covers:
- accomodation (in rooms of 2 or 3 beds, at the University's Student Dormitory),
- 3 meals a day,
- all lectures and free time events.
The participation fee does not cover (and is not arranged by the Organizers, so you will have to take care of it):
- traveling costs to/from Győr,
- expenses of visa application and other travel documentation,
- insurance.
The applications shall include:
- letter of motivation,
- application form (you can download it here),
- a letter of recommendation from a professor is beneficial, but not mandatory.
